One of the great things about FeedBlitz RSS feeds is that you can do much more with it than simply share the feed URL, including using filters to modify what content the feed shows to subscribers by creating tag or category-specific feeds.
*Bonus: You can then also use these feeds to send tag or category-specific mailings to your subscribers!
To create these tag or category-specific RSS feeds, you'll work with path modifiers such as /tag/ to include specific content or /not/ to exclude content from a feed.
Let's use the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions Blog RSS feed - https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing - as an example.
To create an RSS feed for all posts tagged "Marketing Trends" the feed URL will be:
https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/tag/Marketing%20Trends
To create an RSS feed for all posts except "Marketing Trends":
https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/not/Marketing%20Trends
You can even have multiple /tag/ and /not/ modifiers in a single feed URL, such as:
https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/tag/Marketing%20Trends/not/Tech%20Marketing
If you have multiple /tag/ modifiers in one feed, they work as an OR, rather than as an AND, meaning all posts mentioned in any of the selections will be included in the new feed. When you want to include multiple categories or tags, you can either comma separate the list or use /tag/ multiple times.
For inclusion you can use:
https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/tag/Marketing%20Trends,Tech%20Marketing OR https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/tag/Marketing%20Trends/tag/Tech%20Marketing
To exclude posts from multiple tags or categories you can use:
https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/not/Marketing%20Trends,Tech%20Marketing OR https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/not/Marketing%20Trends/not/Tech%20Marketing
If you wish to only include posts with multiple tags, you can AND between the tags https://feeds.feedblitz.com/linkedinmarketing/tag/Marketing%20Trends/and/Tech%20Marketing
These filters work with both your feed’s tags and/or categories, which FeedBlitz consolidates into a single “keyword” list. This means a blog post will appear in RSS feed with the filter /tag/happy if it is either tagged “happy” or in the “happy” category.
