Using Groups to Shape Your Mailings

A group is a static list of emails, that cannot be mailed directly, but can be used to work with your subscribers and shape any single mailing campaign. This article will take a closer look at working with groups and single email campaigns, but first, let's go over what we mean when we say “shape your mailings.”

What does “shape your mailings” mean?

The term - shape your mailings - relates to the audience receiving your email. While it's easy to send a campaign to a particular mailing list or to add additional mailing lists to you campaign, you can use groups to target the exact audience, depending on what email addresses are either included or not included in a group.

How do I use groups to shape my audience?

Once your group(s) are created and in place, you're ready to use them in a single mailing campaign. On the Audience tab of your campaign, your groups will be listed in the filter and follow-up drop-down menu:

Here you can select groups one-by-one and then continue to add as many groups as you'd like.

Once you choose your group, you will then be able to designate email addresses that are in the group and not in the group.

If you hover over the group and select the pencil icon:

You can view group members and make any necessary changes in the group editor pop-up.

Hovering over the group and selecting the circled X will remove the group from your mailing:
