With groups being a static list of email addresses, they allow you to not only shape your single mailing campaigns (LINK) but to shape your mailing lists as well. Shaping your mailing lists includes moving, copying or deleting subscribers, or applying one tag to all versus manually applying one tag, one email at a time.
Previously, if you wanted to complete a bulk action for part of your mailing list, multiple steps were involved such as exporting, sorting, filtering, re-importing, etc. Now, with groups, you can pull a subset of your subscribers and complete these bulk actions in a matter of a few clicks.
Types of Bulk Subscriber Actions
Bulk actions are used when you would like to change or update more than one item at a time, similar to a Select All option for a list. Bulk subscriber actions can include things such as:
- Applying a tag to subscribers in a mailing list or funnel campaign.
- Moving/Assigning subscribers from one mailing list or funnel campaign to another.
- Copying subscribers from one mailing list or funnel campaign to another.
How to Use a Group in a Bulk Subscriber Action
Once your groups are created, navigate to your mailing list through Subscribers > Lists in your left-hand menu, and select the mailing list with your targeted subscribers. Then choose the action you want to take under Subscribers in the top menu.
To complete the bulk action, select your group from the drop-down noted below for each action.
Examples:
Apply Tags & Custom Fields
Assign to a List
Delete from a List
Selecting your group will apply the bulk change to the subscribers on the mailing list who are members of the group chosen. In a matter of clicks you'll complete the task and moving forward to the next item on your to do list!
And that's how to use groups to complete bulk actions. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know. You can find all of our great support resources and how to get in touch with us via email, chat or phone on our Support Page.
